Vegan Recipes for Passover (or Any Occasion!) | ZardyPlants

Hey, Reader.

I don't know if you celebrate Passover but the first day is April 1st this year! So if you're starting to plan your menu, these recipes might help. Note that not all of these are Kosher for Passover (in reference to leavened products) but not all Passover celebrators observe that rule so I included those recipes too. And if you don't already have our Plant Based Jewish Recipes E-Book, you might want to get that for even more festive recipes!

And hey, if you don't celebrate Passover, these recipes are DELICIOUS for dinner, dessert, and beyond.

It's a little early to wish you this, but Chag Sameach Pesach if you celebrate, and Happy Spring either way.

Vegan Passover Recipes

Vegan Flourless Cake

Rich, fudgy, and delicious, this Vegan Flourless Chocolate Cake is gluten-free and also kosher for passover! Made with almond flour and two kinds of chocolate, this lush cake is the perfect feels-fancy dessert that’s easy to make at home.

Vegan Potato Kugel

Like a giant tater tot, this Vegan Potato Kugel deserves to be a main dish as well as a side. It’s so delicious: crispy on the outside, well seasoned, and full of gooey potato goodness on the inside. Kosher for Passover too!

Vegan Mushroom Pâté

Smoky and packed with umami flavor, this easy Vegan Mushroom Pâté is the perfect appetizer or snack (it’s gluten-free too with one easy substitution!). Vegan pâté is a great feels-fancy dish but is simple and easy to make. This recipe was inspired by the chopped liver pâté I used to enjoy before I went vegan. This version is cruelty free and quite delicious! I believe this version is Kosher for Passover, though I suppose it depends what kitniyot you eat (some folks will not eat lentils, I understand).

Vegan Matzo Ball Soup

This Vegan Matzo Ball Soup is delicious and satisfying and tastes just like Bubbe used to make. You don't have to be Jewish to enjoy the fluffy matzo balls or the savory herb infused soup! This recipe is easy and quick to make, so enjoy it for any evening. It is NOT Kosher for Passover but I've had many readers tell me they enjoyed it for their Passover meal so I included it here.

Vegan Spinach Noodle Kugel

This creamy Vegan Spinach Noodle Kugel is a fantastic kosher-friendly main (though not Kosher for Passover due to the pasta... if you eat kitniyot you may be able to switch to a legume pasta) or side dish for any holiday meal or even on a weeknight, as it takes just 35 minutes to throw together. This is a veganized version of a recipe my grandmother made. Protein-packed and much lighter than normal kugel, this healthy dish is delicious and perfect for the entire family.

Vegan Brisket

Juicy, tender, and satisfying, this Vegan Brisket is a perfect dinner main or holiday centerpiece. Slow roasted so it’s fork-tender, this seitan brisket will have vegans and non-vegans raving. This recipe is NOT kosher for passover due to the wheat-based main ingredient, but if your family does not observe that rule you can definitely enjoy this vegan brisket... or just make it before or after Passover!

Tahini Milkshake

This Tahini Milkshake is a chilly yet cozy drink that isn't necessarily a Passover recipe, but it's a super delicious and EASY dessert option if seeds are appropriate for your menu. Nutty tahini is a rich, peanut-butter-like spread that is made from sesame seeds. With some frozen banana and a pinch of cinnamon, you'll have a comforting yet easy dessert or snack with this tahini shake recipe!
